A programming study to project the spatial requirements for the growth of a northern Virginia based international satellite communications company includes current area calculations with variables for growth added to illuminate future expansion area calculations. At the beginning of the programming study, two separate buildings were occupied with the question of adding a third. After an intensive company study, the programming provided a spatial map for relocation of departments to accommodate immediate and near future growth in only two buildings. This consolidated and made departmental collaboration more efficient while eliminating the need for a third building.
